Jane Eyre Demo Recording 1991 (Audio) Sally Dworsky, Vonda Sheppard, Joseph Williams, Donna DeLory, Hope Levy, Robin Skye, Ruch Hebert, Debbie Shapiro Gravitte, Mark Smith, Nell Balaban, Marla Schaffel, and Paul Gordon Notes: 26 tracks; known as the "26 track demo", only the first 18 tracks are from 1991 (which makes me assume that the original 1991 demo should have only been 18 tracks). Tracks 19-26 date from somewhere between 1996-1999. All of the tracks seem unfinished somehow - they fade out and you can hear there must have originally been more to the recording. Whether this was the way it was originally 'released' is something we'll probably never know. However, this is still a gem and includes many early versions of songs, and many things that changed along the way.

Jekyll and Hyde National Tour, Cincinnati, OH December 19, 1999 (Audio) Brian Noonan alt. (Jekyll/Hyde), Sharon Brown (Lucy), Andrea Rivette (Emma), and James Clow (John Utterson) Notes: 2-second pauses. Tracks have been cut a little strangely, but it shouldn't be too obtrusive with disc-at-once. It does, however, begin in the middle of the Jekyll introductory monologue. Rather muffled sound. Brian's Hyde voice greatly resembles his Gaston voice, but as Jekyll he's much lighter and I love how he sounds. He plays Hyde a bit too smoothly and operatically, though. He's not nearly sinister enough

Let Me Die Philadelphia, PA September 26, 2019 (Audio) *musain's master* Joseph Keckler (creator, opera singer), Veronica Chapman-Smith (Soprano), William Kim (Piano), Natalie Levin (Mezzo-soprano), Augustine Mercante (Countertenor), Lavinia Pavlish (Violin), and Saori Tsukada (Dancer & Actor) Notes: “World premiere of Joseph Keckler's opera about death about... operas about death. Sung half in English, half in various other languages (German, Italian, etc), the show features retellings of famous deaths, ranging from Romeo & Juliet to Eurydice to real-life prison inmates on death row. Each performer switches between various roles, completely race-blind, gender-blind, and age-blind (hence why they are simply listed as their vocal ranges). A bit confusing with all of the character switches and the non-English songs, but an incredible and witty piece of art for sure. Recorded from the first row.”

This is an incredibly rare performance, as Chris McCarrell had a noticeably shot voice and was physically unable to hit most of the high notes his part entails, so he hits a lot of alternate notes throughout the first act. The entirety of Good Kid is transposed two keys down, which I've never seen a show do before. For Act Two, he seems right back to normal. During the scene where Mr. D tries to turn Percy into a dolphin, the legs of his chair bend and the chair breaks. He throws the chair away behind him during the "travelling musical" line. Includes BCEFA speech from Ryan Knowles. Extremely limited trade per master's request 3:1. It was initially mislabeled by the master of a recording of it as March 25, but they later changed it to March 24 (March 24 was their closing date in Toronto; they didn't have a show on the 25th).
